Our association has always prided itself on its exclusive status in Ritenour. We are the majority voice and representation for the 400+ teachers in Ritenour. Our association is actively involved in the state and national association, sending representatives to the state and national representative assemblies. We have very dedicated and hard-working executive officers who do the majority of the work for our association.
Currently, three officers' terms expire in June: President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Laura Conley, Marcus Glover, and Jennifer Strathman have all served as RNEA executive officers for four one year terms and per the RNEA bylaws, that is the maximum term limit. The future of our association is dependent upon electing new officers to replace these out-going officers.
If you are interested in serving the hardworking teachers of Ritenour, please email Laura Conley at conley@ritenour.k12.mo.us
Our association has prided itself on active communication. Unfortunately that communication has been limited because some buildings are not represented or are under-represented. Each Ritenour building can have one building representative per ten members. Currently we do not have representation at Buder, Marion, or Marvin. Ritenour High school should have seven building representatives, so like many other buildings, is under-represented.
Please help our association by volunteering to represent your building. Elections for representative positions will be held in April. Our bylaws also provide stipends for active building representatives. Please consider helping your RNEA, your building colleagues, and yourself.
In the past three years the RNEA has influenced the Ritenour School Board elections. We have supported candidates who have been teacher friendly, and as a result we have advocates on the Board and more of a voice in the decision making and policies of our district. Another School Board election will be held this April and we will would appreciate your help.
This is an exciting time in Ritenour: potential for new association representation, new district leadership who promotes cooperation and communication, potential for stronger School Board advocacy, and high-tech communication (and discounts!) to help RNEA members. Our association has had a strong advocacy tradition but ITS FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS. |
